3-D Dynamic UAV Base Station Location Problem

We address a dynamic covering location problem of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Base Station (UAV-BS), where the sequence single UAV-BS in wireless communication network is determined to satisfy data demand arising from ground users. This especially relevant context smart grid and disaster relief. The vertical movement ability non-convex functions restrict utilizing classical planar approaches. Therefore, we develop new formulations this emerging for finite time horizon maximize total coverage. In particular, mixed-integer non-linear programming formulation which nature, propose Lagrangean Decomposition Algorithm (LDA) solve formulation. Due high complexity problem, LDA still unable find good local solutions large-scale problems. Continuum Approximation (CA) model show that CA would be promising approach terms both computational solution accuracy. Our numerical study also shows can remedy build efficient initial exact algorithms.
